Tool Time
Use
the Tool Time blocks to add to a sweatshirt jacket. I used the
blocks full size and appliquéd them to the jacket. You could also
make pockets from the blocks by sewing a background fabric to the
appliqué and sewing around three sides of the block. Put the block
and the background fabric right sides together. Sew around the block
using a 1/4" seam allowance leaving a 3" opening for turning. Clip
corners and turn. Iron and sew to the jacket for a pocket.
Tool
Time also makes a great punch needle pattern. I reduced the block to
5". From the pattern sheet increase your desired block to 167% (the
blocks on the pattern sheet are 3"). Then trace the image from the
back side of the copy (so the image will not be reversed) using a
permanent marker onto lightweight interfacing (like what you would
use in a shirt) and iron to your background fabric that is large
enough to fit in an embroidery hoop. Punch away! I used a
combination of 2 strands of embroidery floss or 12 weigh pearl
cotton.
